![]() Unless you start seeing it in regular use, or you see actual images burning into the screen there is no need to worry. You'd almost certainly be able to go looking for it on a week old S9 or iPhone Xs and find it, especially comparing areas of the screen that are black most of the time to areas that aren't. You get different colors because the red, green, and blue pixels degrade at different rates, both because of the materials used in them, and what is being displayed on screen (though seeing different colors is usually only a thing you see in review units that have the same text from demo mode or static home screens on all day for months on end).īasically though? This is NOT a issue that is unique to the Pixel 2, 2 XL(this was a fucking thing last year too), or the Pixel 3 or 3 XL. Then when you look at the screen as a whole with the same color on it, you can see the brightness differences in areas of the display that have been aged and have degraded more than others. Therefore not aging at the same rate as the rest of the display. The reason that line is obvious, even now at this early stage, is when a OLED pixel is black, it is off. Not going away till MicroLED gets here, whenever that is. ![]() No misleading/non-descriptive/clickbait titles, disinformation or illegal content.ĪmAs, Q&As, giveaways, and other community-facing content must be approved by moderators.Īnd as always, be nice and follow reddiquette.
